PINtPOINT is an independent app built and maintained by Paul Desmond. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Untappd LLC, Google, or any other third party.
PINtPOINT does not collect your name, email address, or any information that identifies you personally. We do not create user accounts. If you enable cloud backup or push notifications, an anonymous device identifier is stored in our cloud database — this cannot be linked to you as an individual. See the Cloud backup and Push notifications sections below for full details.
PINtPOINT requests access to your device location solely to show nearby venues on the radar and Discover screens. Your location is used only on-device in real time — never stored, never transmitted to our servers, and never shared with third parties. You can revoke access at any time in Settings.
PINtPOINT requests camera access solely to scan QR codes shared by other PINtPOINT users. No images or video are stored or transmitted.
Google Places API — used to discover nearby venues and fetch photos. Your approximate location is sent to Google. Google privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Untappd — PINtPOINT fetches publicly available RSS feeds to display tap list information. No Untappd account data is accessed. Privacy policy: https://untappd.com/privacy
qrserver.com — used to generate QR codes. Venue name and coordinates are sent to generate the image. No personal data is included.
PINtPOINT stores the following locally on your device only: saved venues and favourites, app settings, your active pub crawl, and tap history. This data never leaves your device and is cleared on uninstall.
PINtPOINT is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children under 17.
